Switch your agent on in Upcut.
Open Settings → Agents and turn on ChatGPT or Claude. Choose the workspaces it can reach, and whether it may create and edit designs or only read them.

Add Upcut to your agent.
In ChatGPT, add Upcut as a connector and approve access when Upcut asks. In Claude, add it as a custom connector — or, in Claude Code, run the one-line command Upcut shows you.

Ask for something.
Your agent opens the design in Upcut. Keep talking to it where you are, and watch the work in your workspace.
Upcut connects to agents over MCP, the open standard for giving agents tools, so Codex and other MCP clients connect the same way. Each agent gets its own key and its own permissions — replace the key or switch the agent off at any time.
You stay in control of every change.
Watch edits happen live. Inspect individual objects, adjust the design yourself, or undo a change. Review manufacturing operations and toolpaths before approving them.
An agent reaches only the workspaces you choose, and does only what you allow it to. Nothing leaves Upcut for your machine until you export it yourself.

Upcut runs an MCP server. Agents connect over HTTP and sign in with OAuth — or with a per-agent key, for local clients and bridges.
Tools mirror the editor’s own operations: components, shapes and modifiers, parameters and formulas, layers. A batch of edits applies all at once or not at all. Toolpath and export tools are next.
